Editorial Policy: How We Review
How Best Info Lab researches tools, records prices, uses AI assistance, handles affiliate links and corrects mistakes.
The short version
- Every review states its research method and date.
- Prices and plan limits come from the vendor’s own pages, with the date we checked.
- We list downsides and alternatives on every review.
- Affiliate links never decide a verdict, and we disclose them next to the recommendation.
- A person reviews and edits everything before it’s published.
Research methods
Each review shows one of these labels near the top. We pick the one that is true for that specific product, not for the site in general.
- Personally used: we used the product ourselves for real work, and give the dates and plan.
- Demo or trial inspected: we went through a free plan, trial or demo, but did not use it for ongoing work.
- Vendor documentation analysis: based on the vendor’s pricing pages, documentation, help centre and terms.
- Research-based comparison: based on public sources such as vendor pages, changelogs and published reports, compared on the same criteria.
A research-based review is a complete review: it tells you what the vendor commits to in writing, what it costs and where the limits are. We don’t describe testing we didn’t do.
Pricing and facts
- Prices, credits and plan limits are taken from the vendor’s own pages, with the date and a link.
- Where prices differ by region, billing period or promotion, we say which one we recorded. When a vendor’s own pages disagree, we say so.
- Deal pages show the date we last checked the deal. We only show an expiry date when the vendor states one.
- The vendor’s current page always takes priority over ours. Check it before you buy.
Reviews and testimonials
We don’t publish fake, AI-generated or paid-for user reviews or testimonials, and we don’t suppress negative information. If a company gives us free access or a product, we say so in that review.
Ratings
If a review shows a rating, it is an editorial judgement based on the research method stated on that page. We don’t publish user-review counts or star ratings we didn’t produce.
Use of AI
We use AI tools to help with research, outlines and first drafts, mainly for news updates and page structure. AI-assisted drafts are checked against their sources, edited, and approved by a person before publishing. AI is never used to invent testing, experience, quotes, prices or statistics. Drafts that still contain unverified facts can’t be published on this site.
Updates
We update pages when pricing, plans or features change in a way that matters to buyers. The “Updated” date changes only for real content updates.
Affiliate links and independence
Some links earn us a commission. Commissions don’t change which tool we recommend, and vendors can’t buy a review, a verdict or a place in a comparison. Pages with affiliate links show a disclosure before the first recommendation. See the affiliate disclosure.
News updates
News posts cover launches, pricing changes, free plans, lifetime deals, acquisitions and shutdowns. Each one lists its sources and is reviewed by a person before publishing. Nothing on this site is published automatically.
Corrections
If you spot an error or an outdated price, email muzahid@bestinfolab.com or use the contact page. We correct confirmed errors and note significant corrections on the page.
